The Chairperson along with the board is responsible for the strategic direction of the group ensuring the purpose, vision and values are respected at all times.
This involves the following main functions:
Manage all minutes for Board and Breakfast Meetings
Organise Board and Member meetings via TryBooking and e-mailing via the Membership database
Keeping track of meeting bookings and advising the School of expected numbers to assist with setting up the room
Forward a list of bookings to the Board
Confirm with the coffee van for each members meeting
Receive all mail and action as necessary (very little comes through)
· Overall responsibility for the finances. This involves maintaining the financial records for the Association, overseeing bank transactions, reconciling the accounts and reporting to the members. The records are currently maintained in Wave, with automated bank feeds and recurring membership invoices to reduce and simplify the workload. On average, it seems to be a few hours each month to keep the records up to date and prepare reports, along with attending any meetings.
Ultimately responsible for raising money and organising the occasional member social event. We do this through a small committee who meet monthly to raise suggestions, discuss and implement these activities. The whole NOW group become involved in these activities once implemented
The Membership Committee has the exciting task of helping the NOW Business Network to grow. We handle inquiries and promote the NOW group to businesses and community members, sending out membership forms and making sure we capture and maintain accurate details.
We also greet our visitors and guests at our monthly NOW Business Network meetings and follow up to see if they would like to join.
Our membership committee meets monthly to look at ways to encourage guests and new members, and look at ways to improve the member experience.
The Marketing role involves promoting the network through both social media, website and traditional channels. Also produces the monthly Newsletter.
Community Liaison Group
Commonly known as the “Spending committee”. We live the vision and mission of NOW by connecting with the community to see where we can be of assistance. We approach schools, clubs, not for profit and community groups.
The Group meets once per month to share their ideas and connections, once we have established an offer we make a suggestion to the board, if the board approve then the suggestion is tabled at the NOW breakfast meeting with a majority vote being the outcome.
We support the members by connecting with new members and encourage members to be active. Also Support members in need and their wellbeing.
Organize speakers for each breakfast meeting and organize facilitator roster.
